With help from some very talented ladies, the children in the land of the eternal sunshine got a glimpse of Christmas spirit last week as one of the mums organised a big Fayre for all of us.
Children, elves, Santa's helpers... - everyone was very excited as they entered the grotto and picked up their Elf coins to choose the activities. It was a great way to prepare for Christmas: Sofia enjoyed making Christmas decorations, cards and even preparing some food for the reindeers ready for the big day. There was a lucky draw, pin the carrot on Olaf game and match the elf socks in Santa sack - all to play for!
In the nature art corner Tanya helped to make stick reindeers and elf gem stones. Suzanne had baked delicious ginger breads and one now hangs off our tree and Tracey helped with the button Christmas trees.
Lots of glitter and laughter later everyone went home with a big goody bag full of activities. It was great to see the beaming, proud faces of the children who created their own cards for mum and dad, and without any help knew to write their own names, some even managed a To mum & dady. I would love to see all their faces when they get to hand them to their parents at Christmas! Everyone's effort put towards this afternoon was well worth it, and hopefully this will be a tradition to take on to future Christmases.
