What would you like for dinner?

- Sofia, what would you like to eat?

- Hmmm... I'd like some crab and noodles!
Or sushi! I love soft shell crab.
Or how about sweet and sour prawn with broccoli and carrots?

- How about it, indeed?!

Seems we have some expectation management ahead when we return to the UK... At least fish&chips will be the same!

Choosing
We are lucky that Sofia is a fairly good eater, and by that I mean a non-picky eater who generally always runs to the table at meal times. Not once or twice has she been described as the eating machine. One of those people was her teacher; I guess at school they see all sorts of eaters (and packed lunches, my pet hate) and at the Christmas party everyone else was already gone but Sofia was still choosing her next treat at the table...

She does have her foibles, and she does always check if something has chilli in it but generally we don't have a problem. I do thank the decision of pressing on with the baby-led weaning despite of the mess and possibly waste in the early days. She is an easy child to take out to restaurants, and she is happy to choose her own drinks and meals. A memorable moment for Phil was at the Yacht Club when barely finishing her plate, Sofia pushed the chair back and with a wave shouted "Lady, I want an ice cream!". Yes, we are still practicing the magic word please.
